Excellent location near BIS and Central Train Station. Polite staff, reasonable-sized rooms with good closet space and furnishings. Quiet and convenient, with easy access to Old Town and free tram tickets provided. Helpful service, including a lift for luggage.

I had a fantastic stay at this place! The location was absolutely perfect, right next to the Swiss railway station SBB. It was so convenient for me to hop on and off trains and explore the surrounding area. The staff here were truly amazing and went above and beyond to ensure that I had a comfortable stay. They provided superlative service and treated me with great hospitality. The room was spacious, clean, and had all the amenities I needed, including ironing facilities, tea and coffee facilities. The soundproofed rooms made for a peaceful and quiet night's sleep. The free toiletries were a nice touch as well.

I would highly recommend this hotel to families as well. Whether you're traveling with kids or just looking for a spacious and comfortable room, this place has got you covered.

During my recent stay at the Metropol, I was impressed by the excellent service provided by the staff. Natalie, the receptionist, were great too make our stay nice. She stored our bags, gave us directions and a map of Basel, and explained the benefits of the Basel card. The afternoon clerk was also very helpful, ordering a taxi for us and offering a continental breakfast for our early departure. The wake-up call was on time, the breakfast was delicious, and the taxi was ready when we needed it. The caring service at this hotel made us feel valued and taken care of.

The hotel was run down, with rooms that were not clean and a temperature that could not be adjusted. The bathroom layout was unpractical and dangerous, and there was mold present.

This hotel is conveniently located near the train station, making it easily accessible for travelers. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with good quality beds. The staff is friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant stay. The breakfast on the eighth floor offers a great start to the day, with beautiful views over the city. Additionally, there are nice extras such as Basler laeckerli available for tasting in the reception area.

There was a disappointment with the room allocation, as a higher floor was requested but not provided. Additionally, there was some overcrowding during the stay due to accommodating bus tours.

I was kinda surprised by the spacious and well-appointed rooms at Hotel Metropol. The inclusion of a coffee maker in the room was a standout feature, not common in European hotels. The breakfast offered a wonderful assortment of choices and the hotel's location, conveniently near the tram station and Starbucks, was a big plus. I highly recommend this hotel for a enjoyable stay.
